Chef Yoon Nam-no shared his concerns about unexpected expenses ahead of opening his restaurant.
In episode 391 of MBC's variety show "The Manager," Chef Park Eun-young and Chef Yoon Nam-no met and shared updates on their lives. Park Eun-young recently opened a restaurant and described her busy days serving about 120 customers daily. Yoon Nam-no expressed envy over Park Eun-young's successful restaurant operation.
Yoon Nam-no asked Park Eun-young for advice regarding the high costs incurred during the opening preparations. Showing an estimate, he asked, "Is it right to spend this much?" and revealed that the oven alone cost 46 million won. He also expressed financial strain, saying, "I've never had this much money in my bank account." He mentioned that purchasing wine cost between 40 million and 50 million won.
Park Eun-young recalled the difficulties of preparing for the opening, saying, "I lost 7 kilograms when I opened." After reviewing the estimate, she added, "It will cost about half more than this. I've never seen anyone stick to the estimate. You have to start with extra funds," offering practical advice. However, Yoon Nam-no replied, "I don't have extra funds," showing his predicament. When Yoon Nam-no said the oven was his dream, Park Eun-young responded, "Send your dreams to your dreams."
Yoon Nam-no left the restaurant where he had worked for four years last December and is currently preparing to open a new place. He is in the process of preparing for the opening and seeking advice.
