
In episode 391 of MBC's variety show "The Manager," the daily lives of Chef Park Eun-young and actor Kwon Hwa-woon, who each devote their passion to cooking and running respectively, were revealed.
The broadcast showed Chef Park Eun-young immersing herself in cooking by personally searching for various ingredients at Daerim Market even on her days off. She demonstrated her dedication to cooking by selecting ingredients with head chef Yoon Joon-won and spontaneously devising recipes. Later, she visited her mentor Chef Yeo Kyung-rae's restaurant and prepared staff meals in coordination with Yeo Min, Chef Yeo Kyung-rae's son. Park Eun-young shared anecdotes about how she had stepped in for Yeo Min when he made mistakes in the past and how she had given him many opportunities to move from the cutting board to the grill, highlighting their close relationship. She also expressed gratitude for Chef Yeo Kyung-rae's efforts to pass down 50 years of culinary know-how to juniors through drawings and writings. Park Eun-young also showcased her carrot flower carving skills.
Park Eun-young met with her close friend Chef Yoon Nam-no and shared realistic advice about opening a restaurant while enjoying soy sauce marinated crab together. She discussed the costs involved in opening a restaurant and the difficulties of running one, sharing her concerns as an owner-chef.
Kwon Hwa-woon completed 13 marathons within one year of starting running, achieving a full course under three hours nine times. He started running at 6 a.m., running 26 km every morning, and revealed that he ran a total of 7,748 km and spent 1,150 hours running over 22 months. After running, he edited marathon videos he filmed himself and uploaded them to his channel while also working on essays. In the evenings, he efficiently used his time by working as a delivery partner. Kwon Hwa-woon shared that he even worked a delivery part-time job right before the MBC Drama Awards ceremony, revealing his belief in not wasting time.
Notably, his experience of completing an additional 20 km despite leg cramps during the Arctic Marathon is also used as educational footage. There is also a story that a professional marathon runner was hired as a cameraman because of Kwon Hwa-woon's fast running pace. He said running changed his way of life and positively influenced those around him. His agency staff and manager also joined him in running. He showed a challenging side by personally contacting publishers to publish his essays.
Kwon Hwa-woon's manager Kang Hyun-woo described him as "a relentless, passionate runner." Kwon Hwa-woon stated his belief, saying, "Opportunities come when you move." Yoon Joon-won said that when Chef Park Eun-young searches for ingredients at the market, "her eyes roll as if she's dancing."
