Chef Yoon Nam-no expressed concerns about the high costs ahead of opening his restaurant.
In episode 391 of MBC variety show "The Manager," Yoon Nam-no met with Chef Park Eun-young to share updates on their restaurant preparations. The two caught up at a soy-marinated crab restaurant, where Park Eun-young offered advice to Yoon Nam-no as a senior in restaurant openings. Showing an estimate, Yoon Nam-no said, "My head hurts so much," revealing his worries about the opening expenses. He mentioned that the oven alone costs 46 million won, surprising Park Eun-young and Lee Young-ja.
Park Eun-young advised, "It will cost about twice this amount. I've never seen anyone stick exactly to the estimate. You need to start with some extra funds." In response, Yoon Nam-no admitted, "I've never had this much money in my bank account," and revealed that purchasing wine costs 40 to 50 million won. He was also unsettled by the fact that ingredient purchases require 10 million won.
The two chefs have built a friendship since appearing on Netflix's "Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War." Yoon Nam-no praised Park Eun-young, saying, "You are truly the real deal," to which Park Eun-young replied that she is ordinary. Yoon Nam-no said, "My nickname was 'crazy cook,' but after seeing you, I felt like I was a fake." Park Eun-young showcased her unique energy, saying, "People say when they look into my eyes, it seems like the sparkle is gone."
Yoon Nam-no left the restaurant he had been with for four years last December, and Park Eun-young recently opened and is running a Chinese dining restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul.
