Singer Hong Ji-yoon appeared on JTBC variety show "Knowing Bros," revealing behind-the-scenes stories of her victory in "Active King of Singers 3" and showcasing various charms.
In the broadcast on the 28th, Hong Ji-yoon started the stage with an impersonation of singer Hyun Sook before submitting a transfer application. This performance, which even captured Hyun Sook's unique offbeat rhythm, brought laughter from the cast.
Hong Ji-yoon mentioned her experience reaching the final selection in "Miss Trot 2" and explained the background of her re-challenge in "Active King of Singers 3." She said that she had participated in the competition without preparation in the past and immediately started active promotions, which made her feel lacking. She added that this time, she thought she needed to strengthen herself more firmly and studied hard.
She also said, "This time, I went out to show what I had studied, and there was a good result," and added, "The staff were happier than me to be with the number one singer, so it was nice."
She also opened up about the difficulties she faced during the winning process. After debuting through an audition, she suddenly received a lot of love but at the same time, many people disliked her. She added, "Now, I think, 'Still, there are many people who love me,' and I overcame it."
Regarding the nickname "Trot Barbie," she explained that fans gave it to her because she wore pink outfits during her appearance on "Miss Trot 2," making her look like a Barbie doll. She said, "It's a pretty compliment, so I don't want to lose it and keep using it," and added, "I was in my 20s then, and now I'm in my 30s, so I feel a bit of a crisis."
In the broadcast that day, Hong Ji-yoon led a lively atmosphere through the game "Sing with Your Body," and at the end, she showcased her vocal skills by passionately singing Joo Hyun-mi's "Why Am I Crying."
Meanwhile, Hong Ji-yoon is scheduled to continue the "Active King of Singers 3" nationwide tour concerts, starting in Seoul and moving on to major cities across the country.
