Wonpil of the band DAY6 is releasing his second solo mini-album, "Unpiltered," for the first time in about four years. This album is a work in which Wonpil candidly expresses his inner self, showcasing a different musical color from before.

In an interview held in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Wonpil stated that through "Unpiltered," he honestly conveyed his own emotions and stories. The album includes seven tracks of various genres, including the title track "Love Ward." He personally participated in writing and composing all the songs, demonstrating his musical capabilities.

The title track "Love Ward" combines the contrasting words love and ward, a title that Wonpil came up with himself. This song expresses the pain of love and complex inner emotions, hoping to offer emotional relief to listeners. Wonpil said, "No one can always live expressing everything," and he hopes this song becomes a channel for releasing emotions.

The album title includes part of Wonpil's name. He considered including "Pil" again, as he did in his previous album "Pilmography," but after consulting with his company, they decided on "Unpiltered." Wonpil said, "I may always seem to be smiling and without pain, but with this album, I wanted to show another side of myself."

While preparing this album, Wonpil revealed that he tried many new musical approaches. He explained, "There are styles of songs that you can't hear in DAY6," and through his solo album, he experimented with various genres and messages. He also said he made efforts to show a different image in concept photos and music videos.

The members' reactions during the album production were also positive. Sungjin commented, "It's so new. It's really good," and Young K and Dowoon also contributed their opinions on selecting the title track. Wonpil said the members' feedback was a great source of strength.

Wonpil expressed that he does not yet consider himself a complete adult. The third track, "I've Become an Adult," reflects the image of an adult living by compromising with reality. He said, "Being an adult seems like pretending, pretending not to be tired, pretending not to have difficulties."

DAY6 celebrated their 10th anniversary last year and expressed their ambition to continue making great music for their 15th and 20th anniversaries. Wonpil's mini-album "Unpiltered" and the title track "Love Ward" will be released at 6 p.m. on the 30th. Additionally, a solo concert will be held from May 1 to 3.
