Irene has begun a new musical journey as a solo artist by releasing her first full-length album, Biggest Fan.
At 6 p.m. on the 30th, Irene's first full album and the music video for the title track were released on various music platforms and the SM Town channel on YouTube. This album marks her solo comeback about 1 year and 4 months after her first mini-album, Like A Flower, released in November 2024, and contains a total of 10 tracks. The songs delicately capture various emotions Irene has felt in her daily life and include a variety of genres such as the pop dance track Biggest Fan, Best Believe, Don't Wanna Get Up, Million Miles Away, and Love Can Make A Way.
The title track, Biggest Fan, is a pop dance song that combines bright and lively bass, rhythmic drums, narration rap, and an addictive chant. The lyrics convey a positive message to fans along with an attitude of believing in and supporting oneself. In the music video, Irene transforms into a fashion creative director, sensually expressing a life lived with autonomy.
The performance also draws attention. Irene perfectly conveyed the atmosphere and message of the song on stage through organic collaboration with dancers. Various key movements, facial expressions, and gestures combined to add enjoyment to the performance. Irene said, "I felt this choreography was a perfect fit for this song," and expressed her hope that everyone would enjoy watching the entire stage.
During the album production process, Irene said she paid special attention to storytelling so that the songs could flow as one. She said, "I wanted to tell the story that my 'Biggest Fan' is myself," adding that believing in and supporting oneself makes one stronger. She also personally recommended Don't Wanna Get Up and Million Miles Away and expressed curiosity about fans' reactions.
Regarding Love Can Make A Way, which contains autobiographical stories, Irene explained that it carries the message that her past self is cheering on her present self, along with feelings of apology and gratitude for the time that has passed. She said, "I hope those who listen to this song will look back on their own time and offer warm words to themselves."
To celebrate the album release, Irene held a special live broadcast on YouTube and TikTok at 5 p.m. that day, sharing behind-the-scenes stories and her thoughts on the album with fans. She will then embark on her first solo concert tour in five Asian regions, starting at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul on May 23–24. Irene said, "I look forward to meeting LOVEs often and greeting them in various ways," expressing her wish to create good memories with fans in each region.
