Kim Jaehwan will resume his solo activities by releasing a new album next month. This comeback is his first since completing his military service last December, and it is his first solo album in about two years, excluding OSTs.
The title track of the album, scheduled for release in April, is known to highlight Kim Jaehwan's capabilities as a main vocalist. An industry insider said, "As Kim Jaehwan was the main vocalist of Wanna One, this song showcases his outstanding skills," adding, "It will be an emotional song that features solid high notes."
Meanwhile, Wanna One's reality variety show "Wanna One Go," which Kim Jaehwan was a part of, is set to air on Mnet, drawing public attention in conjunction with his comeback. Wanna One is an 11-member project group formed through Mnet's "Produce 101" Season 2 in 2017, with members including Kang Daniel, Lee Daehwi, Kim Jaehwan, Ong Seongwu, Park Woojin, Lai Kuanlin, Yoon Jisung, Hwang Minhyun, Bae Jinyoung, Ha Sungwoon, and Park Jihoon. Wanna One will reunite after six years through "Wanna One Go," their first stage since the 2021 MAMA AWARDS. However, Kang Daniel, who is currently serving in the military, and Lai Kuanlin, who is staying in China, will not participate in this variety show.
Since his discharge, Kim Jaehwan has been communicating with fans through his official YouTube channel by sharing song cover videos and more.
Currently, Kim Jaehwan's new album is being prepared with a goal to release in April.
