Kim Shin-young referred to herself as a victim of 'Dujjonku' (Dubai Chewy Cookie).
On the April 1 broadcast of MBC FM4U's "Noon's Hope Song, Kim Shin-young," Red Velvet's Irene appeared as a guest. On that day, a fan mentioned that Irene had never tried the recently popular butter rice cake and asked for Kim Shin-young's opinion. Kim Shin-young also revealed that she had never tried butter rice cake.
Kim Shin-young said, "After Dujjonku started, I experienced yo-yo dieting. I am indeed a victim of Dujjonku. I ate it when there were no sold-out signs, when there was still some left. When the trend was over, there was no stress. Whenever I checked delivery apps, it was always number one and sold out today, but I was okay with that."
Kim Shin-young shared that after losing about 44 kg, she maintained her figure without yo-yo dieting for about 13 years, but recently experienced yo-yo dieting again. She appeared on JTBC's "Knowing Bros" and said, "People say that if you lose weight and maintain it for about 10 years, no matter how much you eat, it won't come back. No, it came back right away. I thought, 'What's life? Yeah, I should eat some delicious food too. I've held back too much,' so I ate a little," revealing that she gained weight again after eating a whole cake and seven packs of ramen.
