
BTS took first place on the Japanese Oricon chart with their new song "SWIM."
"SWIM" ranked number one on the Oricon "Weekly Streaming Ranking" (April 6 issue), which was compiled from March 23 to 29. The song debuted at 27th place the previous week and then jumped 26 spots to reach the top. With this, BTS achieved their sixth number one on the Oricon streaming ranking, setting a new record for the most number ones by an overseas artist. They had previously topped this chart with "Dynamite," "Film out," "Butter," "Permission to Dance," and "Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)."
Additionally, "SWIM" rose three spots from the previous week to reach second place on the Oricon "Weekly Digital Single Ranking." The full-length fifth album "Arirang" (ARIRANG), which includes the song, ranked second on the "Weekly Digital Album Ranking" and third on both the "Weekly Album Ranking" and the "Weekly Combined Album Ranking." "Arirang" maintained a high position on the charts for two consecutive weeks.
Since releasing "Arirang" on the 20th of last month, BTS has set various global records. The title track "SWIM" debuted at number one on the Billboard Brazil main song chart "Hot 100." This is the first time a foreign song has topped the Billboard Brazil chart since its renewal in 2023. Also, five songs from the album simultaneously entered the top 10: "Body to Body" (4th), "Hooligan" (5th), "FYA" (9th), and "Aliens" (10th).
On the U.S. Billboard charts, BTS's fifth full-length album and its title track each took first place on the main album chart "Billboard 200" and the main song chart "Hot 100" (April 4 issue), respectively. Notably, 13 out of the 14 songs on this album entered the "Hot 100" chart.
