Chef Kim Si-hyun Confesses Kitchen Burn Accident "25% Damage to Arm and Face... Underwent Hospital Treatment"

Chef Kim Si-hyun, who appeared on KBS 2TV's 'Problematic Men in the Rooftop Room,' revealed his past experience of suffering severe burns in the kitchen.

Kim Si-hyun disclosed on the show that he was hospitalized for about a month due to an accident while working in the kitchen. He explained that while carrying hot water, he slipped on the floor and fell down the stairs, resulting in burns covering more than 25% of his body surface area, including his arms and face. At the time, his chef's uniform was made of pure cotton, and when he took it off immediately after the accident, the skin on his arms came off. Medical staff diagnosed that he needed to be hospitalized for one to two months.

Regarding the hospitalization process, Kim Si-hyun said, "At first, I was wrapped up like a mummy. My upper body was wrapped, and when I saw other burn patients, some had faces that looked like they were melting. I was very scared. So I didn't even see my dad during visits. It was hard to see anyone."

Currently, there are almost no burn scars left, and Kim Si-hyun said, "If I remove my makeup, there's a slight mark. It's a mark only I know about." He also added that he overcame the trauma with the help of his colleagues. Chef Park Eun-young also appeared on the show that day.
