Monsta X attracted global fans' attention by releasing their third full-length album 'Unfold' in the United States. Their agency, Starship Entertainment, announced that Monsta X released the new album on April 3 through music platforms worldwide.
The album 'Unfold' is an honest work that unfolds various stories Monsta X has conveyed over the past decade, addressing themes such as wounds and growing pains, fading love, and inner voices. The title track 'heal' questions the repeated wounds in relationships and the meaning of true recovery, featuring a restrained introduction and an emotionally explosive chorus.
The album contains a total of 10 tracks, including 'heal.' The pre-released single 'baby blue' depicts fading love, while 'growing pains' confesses the passage of ten years. Other songs include 'this!,' which captures a sensory excitement, 'before you met me,' portraying the time spent trying to change each other in love, and 'glass half empty,' which compares the inner self to an empty glass.
In the latter part of the album, the newtro synth-pop genre track 'main attraction' shifts the mood, and songs like 'enemies with benefits' and 'on our way' are also included. The final track, 'sorry to myself,' contains an apology to oneself in the face of a breakup.
Prior to the release, Monsta X shared a teaser for the 'heal' music video on their official SNS on the 1st. The video features members holding nails, hammers, and yarn, confronting their wounds, and ends with a scene of a nail being driven into a heart-shaped object.
Monsta X's new U.S. release 'Unfold' is available on music sites worldwide, and the full 'heal' music video is scheduled to be released today at 4 PM (KST).
