ZEROBASEONE has concluded its 2 years and 6 months of activities and entered a new phase. Five members—Seong Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Seok Matthew, Kim Taerae, and Park Geonwook—will continue activities as a team, while Jang Hao, Ricky, Kim Kyubin, and Han Yujin will return to their original agency after the group's disbandment and are set to re-debut as the rookie boy group Andble. Accordingly, the original nine-member lineup has split into two teams, each pursuing their own path.
ZEROBASEONE and Andble are reportedly preparing for a comeback and debut, respectively, in May. With both teams starting activities around the same time, an unusual internal competition has emerged in the K-pop market. It is rare for members of a project group to clearly divide into two teams and promote simultaneously after disbandment.
ZEROBASEONE has maintained a strong fandom, achieving six consecutive million-seller albums since their debut. However, the departure of four members, including Jang Hao, is expected to cause a division within the fandom. In particular, Jang Hao's influence in the Chinese market as the winner of Boys Planet is anticipated to bring changes to the global fandom. Within the fandom, support may split between team-centered and member-centered approaches, potentially intensifying internal competition.
It is also notable that key performance indicators such as album sales, digital chart rankings, and public attention may be divided between the two teams. ZEROBASEONE now faces the challenge of reorganizing music and performances originally designed for a nine-member group into a five-member format, while Andble must seek differentiation amid expectations as former ZEROBASEONE members.
An industry insider stated, "Since ZEROBASEONE enjoyed great popularity as a complete group, expectations for performance and public attention remain high despite the members continuing activities in different teams. However, with the inevitable division of the fandom, it will be important to set a direction that fits musical transformation or team reorganization to achieve the same level of impact as before."
