On KBS 2TV's 'Men Who Do Housework Season 2,' Hwanhee was shown carrying out a filial piety project to restore his relationship with his mother.

Hwanhee made various attempts to get closer to his mother. He took it upon himself to fix a broken toilet in the bathroom and visited a traditional market with his mother for the first time in about 20 years. At the market, he tried to show himself as a caring son by carrying her bags, but his mother revealed that she had difficulty shopping while being conscious of her son's actions. She confessed, "It was a bit uncomfortable."

On the way back after shopping, his mother handed Hwanhee a white envelope. She said, "You must have spent a lot of money today. I withdrew cash to give back the amount spent at the market." She continued, "My son worked really hard to earn money. How could he feel reluctant to give money to his mother? I always feel sorry and apologize whenever I give you living expenses. I feel so sorry and pitiful."

In response, Hwanhee expressed his hurt, saying, "How can a child be indebted to their parents?" He raised his voice, saying, "Why are you always apologizing to me? That's how people live, how families live. Did I spend a million won there? And you can't stand that? Mom, your personality is too much. You're not a stranger. Why are you acting like that?"

His mother replied, "Don't I give you a lot of living expenses? Why are you getting annoyed? Just accept me as I am. You too. Why do you always have to live indebted to me?"

Hwanhee revealed, "I was shocked that she wanted to return the money. I wondered if we really had to settle accounts like this. It was upsetting."
