Lee Guk-joo revealed her life living alone in Tokyo, Japan. On the May 5 broadcast of SBS variety show "My Ugly Duckling," actors Choi Jin-hyuk and Yoon Hyun-min visited Lee Guk-joo's home in Japan, showcasing her daily life.
Introducing her home, Lee Guk-joo explained that the monthly rent is about 1.3 million won. The interior of the house was smaller than expected, and she said she only sleeps on the sofa. Regarding the sofa serving as a bed, Lee Guk-joo said, "I sleep only on the sofa without a bed." She also mentioned many inconveniences due to the narrow space. Yoon Hyun-min, standing close by, bumped into her and staggered, and he said the sink was so small that it was difficult to even fit a soup bowl. Lee Guk-joo confessed her realistic difficulties, saying, "It's so cramped that I've even cried."
About why she started living in Tokyo, Lee Guk-joo said, "Last year was an off-season for work, and I was mentally struggling," explaining her reason for coming to Japan. She said, "I thought, what's the point of just resting, so I came to Japan to rest and also try making content." Regarding language, she answered, "I can't speak Japanese either."
Last April, Lee Guk-joo revealed the background of her decision to go to Japan through her YouTube channel. At that time, she said, "I turned 40, and next year will mark 20 years since my debut. I want to take on a new challenge now," adding, "Instead of just waiting for work to come, I came with the thought of doing something when there isn't much work and I have time to rest."
