The production briefing for the film "Gunchae" was held on the 6th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Yeon Sang-ho and actors Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-bin, Kim Shin-rok, and Ko Soo attended the event.

"Gunchae" tells the story of survivors trapped inside a building sealed off due to an unidentified infection outbreak, fighting against infected beings that evolve in unpredictable forms. As a new work by director Yeon Sang-ho, it is expected to showcase his directing skills once again, as seen in his previous works such as "Train to Busan" and "Hellbound." This film announces the emergence of a new species that differentiates it from the traditional zombie genre.

Jun Ji-hyun returns to the screen after 11 years through "Gunchae," playing the role of Kwon Se-jung, a biotechnologist and leader of the survivors. Jun Ji-hyun said, "I'm excited to return to film after a long time. Especially as a genuine fan of the director, I'm happy to greet audiences through Yeon Sang-ho's work." She also stated, "The reason I chose 'Gunchae' is because it is a work by director Yeon Sang-ho, and opportunities to work with such excellent actors in one project are rare, so I chose it without hesitation."

Director Yeon Sang-ho recalled his first meeting with Jun Ji-hyun: "We first met at a café, and the moment I entered, I thought, 'Huh? Why is a movie screening happening here?' When I looked for the reason, I saw the actress Jun Ji-hyun sitting there. Just that made the atmosphere feel like a movie." He added, "Jun Ji-hyun has shown a wide acting spectrum in various works such as 'My Sassy Girl' and 'Assassination.' In 'Gunchae,' she condensed that spectrum into a single film, portraying a cynical yet playful and serious character. I thought she is truly a great actress and superstar for a reason."

Regarding the casting of this project, director Yeon Sang-ho said, "I felt like a film director. I couldn't believe it so much that I wanted to tell my 20-years-ago self that I would be making a film with the actors here."

The film "Gunchae" is scheduled to be released in May.
