
Ten, a member of the groups WayV and NCT, has decided to terminate his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment.
On the 6th, SM Entertainment announced through an official statement that after discussions with Ten, they will conclude the exclusive contract as of April 8. The agency explained that even after the contract ends, they plan to continuously coordinate activity directions so that Ten can participate in WayV and NCT group activities. SM Entertainment expressed gratitude to Ten for demonstrating outstanding abilities both as a group member and as a solo artist since his debut, and sincerely supports his new beginning. They also added that they will continue to wholeheartedly support the activities of WayV members.
Through his social media, Ten stated, "I left Thailand at a young age and came to Korea, and there were many unfamiliar and fearful moments, but all the staff at SM sincerely cared for me and were always on my side." He added, "I exist today because there were fans who stayed by my side at every moment." He continued, "After much consideration, I developed a desire to take on new challenges in a new environment," and said, "I am grateful to the members who always supported me so I could dream bigger. I will come back with an even better self, unchanged."
Ten debuted in 2016 as part of NCT's unit NCT U and has built global recognition through activities with WayV, SuperM, and as a solo artist. In February 2024, he released his first mini-album, TEN, and pursued solo activities. Meanwhile, NCT member Mark also announced on the 8th that he will terminate his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment.
