Kwangsoo Lee takes on the role of Director Park in the Disney+ original series "Goldland," showcasing a new transformation in his acting.

"Goldland" is a survival thriller centered around gold bars worth approximately 150 billion won, depicting the story of Hee-joo, played by Bo-young Park, as she fights to claim the gold bars. Kwangsoo Lee appears as Director Park, a character determined to retrieve the missing gold bars, relentlessly pursuing Hee-joo and heightening the tension of the drama.

The released character stills drew attention with a striking image different from Kwangsoo Lee's usual persona. Details such as his crazed gaze, a scar on his cheek, a gold necklace and watch, and tattoos on his arms emphasized the depth of the Director Park character. Kwangsoo Lee said, "The makeup was done to the point where I am unrecognizable," adding, "As the story progresses toward the latter part, I wanted to express the character's desires through his outward appearance, reflecting the incidents and accidents he experiences." He also stated, "I was captivated by the solid story and the script full of twists and turns, so I definitely wanted to participate."

Director Seong-hoon Kim explained, "I wanted to show Kwangsoo Lee as he truly is," and described the character as "a runaway train that cannot control its speed in moments driven by desire." He continued, "With his unique physicality and action, he will reveal a threatening presence and show the ultimate ruthlessness as the series' top antagonist."

Meanwhile, "Goldland" will begin releasing episodes 1 and 2 on April 29, with a total of 10 episodes to be released sequentially, two episodes per week.
