Kangin declares comeback ahead of digital single release 'LOVE IS PAIN'... mixed reactions from fans

Kangin announced his intention to make a comeback through his YouTube channel.

In the 'Kangin's Self Interview' video released on the 6th, Kangin personally shared his recent updates and future activity plans ahead of the release of his digital single 'LOVE IS PAIN.' He said, "It's been a really long time since I greeted you," and mentioned, "I am finally properly releasing the song I performed at the fan meeting." He explained the reason for his comeback by saying, "I found the courage thanks to the fans who waited for a long time." He also added, "The moment I can sing again is all thanks to the fans," and "I will greet you with a better image from now on."

Kangin was involved in several controversies in the past, including drunk driving, hit-and-run accidents, and assault disputes, and he left Super Junior in 2019. After a drunk driving hit-and-run accident in 2009, he was fined again for drunk driving in 2016, and in 2017, an assault report was filed against him. After suspending his activities, he opened a YouTube channel in 2023 and held a fan meeting, showing signs of a comeback.

As news of the new song's release spread, various opinions about his comeback emerged online. Reactions such as "It's too soon for a comeback" and "More self-reflection is needed" were voiced, alongside opinions like "It's okay to be active now" and "I support him."
