Seungmin of the group Stray Kids is raising the expectations of fans worldwide by announcing the release of a long-cherished, unreleased self-composed song.
Seungmin recently appeared as a guest on YB Yoon Do-hyun's YouTube channel 'Yoon Do-hyun's Guitar etc.' and shared honest stories about music and behind-the-scenes details of his debut. Notably, during the broadcast, Seungmin drew attention by dropping a surprise spoiler about releasing a new fan song ahead of their upcoming 8th-anniversary fan meeting.
Revealing that his original dream before joining JYP Entertainment was to be a 'singer-songwriter,' Seungmin stated, "There are many unreleased songs sitting in my drawer (hard drive)," and added, "A self-composed song I wrote 3 to 4 years ago will be released as a digital single soon." This serves as a special gift, carefully prepared over a long period of time for the fans, ahead of Stray Kids' 8th anniversary and fan meeting.
Regarding the lyrics of the new song, Seungmin evoked emotions by explaining, "It contains my story of promising to always be by your side, even though no one knows where we are heading." Furthermore, he revealed his unique analog sensibility of working by writing and erasing lyrics by hand instead of using a computer or a smartphone memo app, raising further expectations for the sincerity embedded in the song.
As Seungmin continues to prove his steady musical growth by possessing not only solid vocal skills but also lyric-writing and composing abilities, the music industry is focusing its attention on what kind of warm emotions and messages he will deliver to the fandom, 'STAY,' through this self-composed track.
