BTS stood out in the global music market by placing 10 songs on the U.S. Billboard main song chart, the 'Hot 100.'
According to the latest chart dated April 11, released by the U.S. music media Billboard on the 7th, the title track "SWIM" from BTS's fifth full-length album "ARIRANG" entered the 'Hot 100' at number 2. Among the tracks on this album, a total of 10 songs charted: "Body to Body" (42nd), "Hooligan" (64th), "NORMAL" (73rd), "FYA" (74th), "2.0" (75th), "Aliens" (84th), "Like Animals" (90th), "they don't know 'bout us" (94th), and "Merry Go Round" (96th).
BTS also showed strong performance on the 'Global 200' and 'Global (excluding U.S.)' charts. "SWIM" held the number 1 spot for two consecutive weeks on both charts, and "Body to Body" ranked second on each chart. Excluding the bell sound of the Seongdeokdaewang Sinjong, 13 vocal tracks ranked within the top 30 on the 'Global (excluding U.S.)' chart and within the top 40 on the 'Global 200' chart.
The album's worldwide popularity was also confirmed on major Billboard charts. BTS maintained high rankings this week as well as last week on the 'Artist 100,' 'Digital Song Sales,' 'Top Album Sales,' and 'Billboard 200' charts. Notably, BTS is the only Korean artist to have held the number 1 spot for two consecutive weeks on the main album chart, the 'Billboard 200.' They also ranked second on the 'World Digital Song Sales' and 'Streaming Songs' charts, and third on the 'Top Streaming Albums' and 'Vinyl Albums' charts.
They also showed remarkable achievements in the Japanese market. According to Oricon's weekly streaming ranking announced on the 8th (dated April 13, covering the period from March 30 to April 5), "ARIRANG" recorded about 8.55 million weekly streams, securing the number 1 spot for two consecutive weeks. This is the first time since November 2024, when Rosé and Bruno Mars' "APT." achieved two consecutive weeks at number 1 on this chart by a foreign artist. BTS has previously topped the Oricon charts with songs such as "Dynamite," "Film out," "Butter," "Permission to Dance," and "Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)."
The fifth full-length album "ARIRANG" is BTS's first new album in 3 years and 9 months. The title track "SWIM" expresses the determination to keep moving forward despite life's hardships, with RM participating in the overall lyric writing to convey BTS's story through the lyrics.
