BTS V, Did His Father Also Dream of Being an Entertainer?

BTS member V revealed a special behind-the-scenes story of how he debuted with the full support of his father, who also dreamed of becoming an entertainer in the past.

Recently, BTS V appeared as a guest on Jung Jae-hyung's YouTube channel 'Fairy Jae-hyung,' showing off his honest and delightful talking skills. In particular, this broadcast drew attention by revealing 'world star' V's extraordinary audition casting anecdote from his early days and his special affection for his father.

V revealed the fateful opportunity that led to his passing the Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE) audition. Initially, he went to Seoul to watch the audition accompanying a friend, but caught the eye of an official on-site and ended up auditioning. At the time, he confidently showcased the dancing, rapping, and beatboxing he had recently learned, and even played the saxophone, thereby seizing the opportunity.

Above all, what caught the eye was the story of his father, who became the biggest driving force in V's journey toward his dream. V confessed, "Actually, my father's dream was also to be an entertainer," sharing an anecdote about his father working at a broadcasting station in Daegu in the past. His father's unfulfilled dream led to solid support for his son, V. Following his father's realistic yet warm advice that one must know how to play at least one instrument to become a singer, V learned the saxophone and even prepared to enter an arts high school.

Rather than blindly opposing when his child said he would walk the difficult path of an entertainer, it was thanks to his father's solid backing—actively cheering and guiding him based on his own experience—that the current multi-talented artist V could be born.

Taking over his father's dream, V stands tall as a top-tier idol performing on the global stage. Fans who encountered his heartwarming debut behind-the-scenes story are sharing deep emotions with reactions such as, "His father was V's most reliable number one fan," "How proud his father must feel seeing his son's success," "It seems he inherited his father's talent exactly," and "From the casting story to his father's story, it's like a movie."
