The movie "The Devil Wears Prada 2" will premiere worldwide for the first time in South Korea on the 29th. This work tells the story of Miranda (Meryl Streep), the legendary editor-in-chief of the fashion magazine "Runway," Andy (Anne Hathaway), who returns as a creative editor after 20 years, and Emily (Emily Blunt), who has become an executive at a luxury brand, reuniting in a completely changed media environment and competing for dominance in the fashion industry.
Along with the news of the sequel, the lead actors' visit to Korea has been announced, and the production team has hinted at a new narrative and changed character relationships different from the previous work. Director David Frankel stated, "One year after the release of the first film, smartphones appeared. Watching the reality of the declining print media year by year, I felt it was right to explore the changes and reunite the characters." Screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna also explained, "This work is set in a new world entangled with new dilemmas, challenges, and changed relationships."
The most notable character in this movie is still Miranda, who leads "Runway." Meryl Streep said, "She clearly recognizes that her position has narrowed in a rapidly changing environment, but Miranda still smartly controls the team flawlessly and passionately dedicates herself to what she does best."
Anne Hathaway, who plays Andy, described her as "a character who has quietly walked in the direction she believes in for the past 20 years and enjoys true fulfillment," adding, "Now Andy will face Miranda as a partner with pride in her career while maintaining humility."
Emily Blunt spoke about Emily, who has grown from a secretary to an executive at a luxury brand: "Finally reaching a position where she exerts enormous influence on others, Emily truly enjoys her current situation. Her ultimate ambition is to become an iconic figure in the fashion world."
Attention is focused on how these three characters, whose relationships have changed, will navigate the new media environment and fashion industry.
