Group Seventeen has officially announced that they are pursuing a second full-group contract renewal with their agency, Pledis Entertainment.
On the 5th, at the 'Seventeen World Tour 'New_' Encore' concert held at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium, all members of Seventeen personally revealed their plans to renew their contracts with Pledis. Leader S.Coups said on stage, "After having deep conversations among the members, all 13 of us decided to renew our contracts together. We will continue to row the boat together moving forward." Following this, Mingyu stated during a live broadcast after the concert, "The contract is in progress. But since the discussions are very positive and in the final stages, I wanted to share this news with you first at the concert. I want to talk about the more detailed matters once everything is neatly finalized." He added, "Anyway, the most important thing is that all 13 of us will be together with one heart for a while. I am also very happy."
In 2021, all 13 members of Seventeen also signed contract renewals with Pledis. This time as well, by announcing that all members will renew, they have shown their determination to maintain the team without losing a single member despite being a large group.
Currently, Seventeen is in a military service hiatus. Jeonghan, Hoshi, Wonwoo, and Woozi are serving in the military, and Mingyu and Dokyeom are scheduled to enlist this year. Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino will also fulfill their military duties sequentially. While the members continue their military service, Seventeen has expressed their intention to continue full-group activities after the military hiatus through this contract renewal.
Seventeen has said, "Nothing lasts forever, but we always challenge eternity."
