Actor Jung Woo revealed his experience with stalking fans after the drama "Reply 1994" on a variety show.
Jung Woo appeared on the YouTube channel "Heartfelt Brother Shin Dong-yup" as the lead actor of the movie "Jjanggu," alongside Hyun Bong-sik and Shin Seung-ho. During the broadcast, Shin Dong-yup asked why Jung Woo's activities had slowed down after appearing in "Reply 1994."
Jung Woo disclosed that he experienced extreme behavior from stalking fans following sudden popularity. He said, "There were people who sent envelopes containing their own hair, and some even sent blood-written letters." He also mentioned cases where fans came to the alley in front of his house to take photos or rummage through trash bins.
Regarding this situation, Jung Woo said, "I couldn't handle it," referring to a period when he stayed hidden for a while. He honestly confessed, "I was very scared and cautious."
Looking back on that time, Jung Woo said, "I felt like I received too much compared to what I had achieved, so I thought I shouldn't get intoxicated by it and should return to the movies where I first started."
Meanwhile, Jung Woo has been steadily active, moving between movies and dramas since "Reply 1994."
