Park Mi-sun is resuming her broadcasting activities after battling breast cancer for about a year. She is set to appear as the main MC on MBN's new variety show "Burning Family" (working title), scheduled to air in June. The program follows the daily lives of celebrity families, and her husband Lee Bong-won will also participate.
Park Mi-sun was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer during a comprehensive checkup in December 2024 and underwent surgery. Lymph node metastasis was confirmed, leading to chemotherapy and radiation therapy. During treatment, she experienced side effects such as hospitalization due to pneumonia, hives, numbness in her hands and feet, and loss of voice, but her health has recently improved. Lee Bong-won revealed on SBS's "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny," "The (chemotherapy) treatment is all finished, and she is currently taking medication and monitoring her progress."
Even during her illness, Park Mi-sun maintained steady communication with fans through her personal SNS and YouTube channel. In November last year, she appeared as a guest on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," where she shared her battle story firsthand. This marks her first return as a fixed MC after temporarily halting her broadcasting activities for about a year and a half.
Park Mi-sun debuted in 1988 by winning the gold prize on MBC's "Gag Contest" and has been active in various variety shows such as "Happy Together," "Three Wheels," and "High School Mom and Dad." She married Lee Bong-won in 1993 and has one son and one daughter.
