Jennie, the only K-pop artist selected for the '2026 TIME 100'... Reaffirming her status as a solo artist

Jennie has been selected for TIME magazine's '2026 THE 100 MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE IN THE WORLD' list. TIME revealed the list of the 100 most influential people of the year on its official website on the 15th (local time), and Jennie was the only K-pop artist to be included.

This year's 'TIME 100' is a list that selects individuals based on global influence, innovation, and achievement. Jennie was included in the artist category, alongside Korean-American pop star Anderson .Paak and actress Dakota Johnson. In the leaders category, U.S. President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney were selected, while the icons category included snowboarder Chloe Kim and figure skating star Alysa Liu.

Last year, Jennie released her solo album Ruby, setting a record as the first female K-pop solo artist to have three songs simultaneously on the Billboard main singles chart, the Hot 100. Additionally, her collaboration with Tame Impala on "Dracula (JENNIE Remix)" reached her highest position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 17, and she became the first female K-pop solo artist to top the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. This song was also nominated for the "Song of the Summer" category at the 2026 American Music Awards, one of the three major music awards in the U.S.

Furthermore, Jennie's first full-length solo album Ruby was selected as one of Rolling Stone's "100 Best Albums of 2025," and she was ranked number one in Forbes Korea's "2025 Korean Idol of the Year."

Singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams told TIME, "To put it simply, she is a star," adding, "There is magic at her core. Whether you see her on screen, in a stadium of 100,000 people, at a party, or in a backstage hallway, she draws you in the same way."

The full list of the '2026 TIME 100' can be found on TIME's official website and will be published in the issue dated the 27th. The offline release will begin on the 17th.
