Seohui-je, older sister Seohui-won confesses "regret and emptiness" after her death

Seo Hee-jae, the younger sister of Seo Hee-won, opened up about her feelings of guilt and longing after losing her sister on a variety show.

According to Taiwan's Ettoday, Seo Hee-jae recently shared her thoughts on her sister Seo Hee-won's death during the recording of a variety show. Broadcaster Chae Kang-young appeared on the show alongside Seo Hee-jae.

Seo Hee-jae had refrained from official interviews since her sister's death, but when Chae Kang-young asked, "Was there something you really wanted to say all this time?" she replied, "After my sister left, my life was a blank for a very long time. I wandered to the point where I didn't even know what I was doing."

Regarding concerns that she relied on alcohol to forget her sadness, Seo Hee-jae clarified, "I wasn't living like a wreck." She added that she often drank with her mother and talked about her sister. She said, "Sitting face to face with my mother and constantly talking about my sister was our only outlet for grief," revealing that her mother would break down in tears every time during their conversations.

On the show, Seo Hee-jae also expressed feelings of guilt. She explained that the Japanese hot spring trip during which Seo Hee-won passed away was her suggestion. Although Seo Hee-won usually did not like going out, she wanted to travel at that time. Their mother opposed the trip due to the expensive costs, but the sisters persuaded her and went on the trip. Seo Hee-jae said that trip became her last memory with Seo Hee-won.

She said, "Whenever I think of my sister, I am tormented by thoughts like 'If only I had listened to mom and not gone then, this tragedy might not have happened.'" Although her mother comforted her by saying, "You must never think like that," Seo Hee-jae revealed that she still carries deep guilt.

Meanwhile, the late Seo Hee-won reunited with group Clon's Koo Jun-yup after more than 20 years and married him in 2022. Seo Hee-won suddenly passed away from acute pneumonia during a family trip to Japan in February last year.
