ENA's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Scarecrow' ranked first among Monday-Tuesday dramas with a 4.1% nationwide viewership rating (based on Nielsen Korea's paid households) in its second episode. The metropolitan area rating was 4.2%, with a peak minute rating of 4.5%, and it also ranked first across all channels with a 1.5% rating in the 2049 target demographic. This marks a 1.2 percentage point increase from the 2.9% rating of the first episode, quickly surpassing ENA's previous works and all-time highest-rated shows.

In episode 2, Kang Tae-joo (played by Park Hae-soo) began a full-scale investigation as the detective in charge of the Kangseong serial murder case. He investigated an attempted murder case to find surviving victims and, following advice from police officer Lee Sook-hee (played by Lee Ji-hye), visited Park Ae-sook (played by Hwang Eun-hoo), who had been kidnapped and escaped a month earlier. Initially uncomfortable with the police visit, Park Ae-sook opened up after Kang Tae-joo said, "You were lucky," and provided testimony similar to the perpetrator's crime pattern.

Kang Tae-joo planned a sting operation where female officers disguised themselves as ordinary pedestrians to lure the criminal. However, Cha Si-young (played by Lee Hee-joon), a prosecutor in charge of public security cases, deployed detectives to suppress protests, and Officer Lee was unable to participate in the operation due to injury, causing difficulties in the investigation. Team leader Kim Man-chun (played by Baek Hyun-jin) assigned Seo Ji-won (played by Kwak Sun-young) as a substitute, and Seo Ji-won accepted the mission without hesitation.

On the night of the sting operation, the perpetrator waited for a woman wearing a skirt but eventually approached Kim Mi-yeon (played by Kim Gye-rim), who was wearing pants. While attempting the crime, the perpetrator spotted Seo Ji-won in a skirt, left a mysterious message to Kim Mi-yeon, and disappeared. A chase ensued in a cornfield, with Kang Tae-joo and Seo Ji-won pursuing the perpetrator. Seo Ji-won was attacked by the perpetrator and collapsed, bleeding from her head, leaving Kang Tae-joo overwhelmed with complex emotions.

Meanwhile, Kang Tae-joo's younger sister, Kang Soon-young (played by Seo Ji-hye), was hospitalized after being assaulted by fellow teacher Jeon Kyung-ho (played by Kang Jung-woo). This incident occurred after Cha Si-young revealed the past of Kang Tae-joo's mother to Jeon Kyung-ho. Enraged by Jeon Kyung-ho's repeated mentions, Kang Tae-joo resorted to violence and was arrested. When Cha Si-young visited him in the detention center, he calmly said, "I told you. I will find everything. You and the case."

'Scarecrow' is a crime investigation drama about a detective chasing the true culprit of a serial murder case who unexpectedly teams up with a person he despised. It airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 PM on ENA and is also available on KT Genie TV and TVING.
