Boy group GENUS will officially debut in the music industry by releasing their digital single "Sugar Rush" on the 27th. Their agency, Just Focus, announced that GENUS will begin their first official activities alongside their debut.

GENUS is a combination of "Generation Us," symbolizing the team's intention to create an era together with their fans. The group consists of five members, all over 178 cm tall, boasting a unique visual balance on stage. Among them, two members come from boy group audition programs.

Chanyong, the leader and main dancer, is a former contestant of the idol survival program "Project 7" and is responsible for the team's performances. Seohah targets global fans with his appearance reminiscent of a pure romance comic protagonist and his proficiency in Japanese. Chaehun, a graduate of the Practical Dance Department at Hanlim Multi Art School, plays the role of the team's mood maker with his rap, performance skills, and unexpected charm offstage. Main vocalist Jaeyoung possesses stable vocal skills, emotional expression, and piano playing ability. The youngest member, Yuan, shows versatility with his lively visuals and drum playing.

Before their official debut, GENUS has been gaining practical stage experience and building a core fandom through long-term performances in Japan since January. They plan to resume their long-term performances in Japan starting April 29, two days after the release of their single.

Their debut song "Sugar Rush" features GENUS's distinctive bright and refreshing energy, catchy melody, and lively mood. Their performance potential has already attracted attention through the "Hooligan" challenge content released before their debut. This content surpassed 1 million views after being reposted by BTS Jungkook.

GENUS plans to expand their connections with domestic fans through various channels, including broadcast appearances and online and offline content. Based on their live and performance skills honed through concerts, they will continue activities both domestically and internationally.
