TWICE draws 550,000 attendees on North American tour... New record for K-pop girl groups

TWICE set a new record for K-pop girl groups by attracting approximately 550,000 spectators in North America through the world tour 'THIS IS FOR.'

According to their agency JYP Entertainment, TWICE started from Incheon and performed a total of 35 shows in 20 cities across North America from January to April 18, starting in Asia and Australia. Originally, 22 shows were scheduled, but due to rapid ticket sales, one additional show was added each in Vancouver, Seattle, Oakland, Dallas, Washington D.C., Belmont Park, Hamilton, Orlando, Boston, Chicago, and Austin, and two additional shows in Los Angeles, increasing the total by 13 shows.

This tour featured a 360-degree stage setup, allowing the audience to enjoy the performance from all seats. Along with hit songs such as 'I CAN'T STOP ME,' 'MOONLIGHT SUNRISE,' 'The Feels,' and 'FANCY,' various performances were presented, including members' solo songs, tracks from the mini 14th album 'STRATEGY,' and songs from the Netflix 'K-pop Demon Hunters' OST. At the end of the Austin show on the 18th, a special video prepared by local fans was screened. The members shared their thoughts, saying, "We are heading toward the end of April, and since starting the North American tour in January, we have performed over 30 shows. Hearing ONCE (our fandom name) say we did well makes it feel like it's really over. We are grateful to all our fans."

Following the North American tour, TWICE will hold three solo concerts at the National Stadium in Tokyo, becoming the first overseas artist to do so. These concerts will take place over three days—on the 25th, 26th, and 28th—in a large venue that can accommodate 80,000 people per show. TWICE previously held three consecutive days of concerts at Tokyo Dome in 2022 and solo concerts at major Japanese venues such as Osaka Yanmar Stadium Nagai, Tokyo Ajinomoto Stadium, Nagoya Vantelin Dome, and Fukuoka PayPay Dome in 2023. In 2024, they became the first K-pop girl group to perform at Nissan Stadium.

JYP Entertainment stated, "TWICE, celebrating their 9th anniversary since their official debut in Japan this year, will stand tall at the National Stadium in Tokyo, which holds special significance in the Japanese music market, and once again join the ranks of legendary girl groups by capturing local fandom, popularity, and ticket power."
