On KBS2's 'The Manager Has Donkey Ears,' Jun Hyun-moo mentioned his standards regarding congratulatory money.
In that day's broadcast, announcers Eom Ji-in and Kim Jin-woong toured wedding venues with announcer Nam Hyun-jong. Nam Hyun-jong is set to marry a construction industry worker two years younger than him this coming November, and the three visited both modern wedding halls and traditional Korean-style wedding halls. The traditional Korean-style wedding hall required residence in Seoul but had the advantages of free rental fees and support for equipment costs. Eom Ji-in explained that Nam Hyun-jong considered the budget, mentioning that he had been a victim of a 60 million won jeonse fraud.
During the wedding venue tour, there was a discussion about congratulatory money. Kim Jin-woong revealed that he once attended up to seven weddings in a single month, and opinions were shared that rising meal costs at wedding halls made it difficult to decide on the amount of congratulatory money. Eom Ji-in advised, "From the recipient's perspective, just taking the time to come is appreciated," and suggested that choosing a venue within one's budget can reduce worries about congratulatory money. Nam Hyun-jong mentioned a robot vacuum cleaner and a dishwasher on his wishlist. Eom Ji-in said that since the rental fee was free and Nam Hyun-jong did not attend her wedding, 50,000 won would be sufficient. In response, Jun Hyun-moo proposed more than 100,000 won, and Park Myung-soo suggested more than 300,000 won. After hesitation, Eom Ji-in decided on 200,000 won. Kim Sook shared that she once considered giving 10 million won as congratulatory money but refrained because many acquaintances did not, and giving all at once would deplete her entire fortune. Jun Hyun-moo revealed that he once gave 5 million won, saying, "It was for someone I was very grateful to. I don't remember who it was. I gave up on getting it back. I gave so much that the total adds up to hundreds of millions. Also, since some people have married twice, I give a bit less for remarriages."
The discussion continued about the range of invitation card distribution. Eom Ji-in advised that with mobile invitations, it would be good to send them to everyone you are close to as a way to announce the wedding. She also mentioned that sending invitations helps organize social connections, and Jun Hyun-moo agreed.
Meanwhile, Jun Hyun-moo, responding to the difficulty of booking wedding halls, announced that he would get married on the third Friday of May 2027, saying, "There is no such thing as small in my dictionary. It will definitely be a big-sized wedding. Since I have been looking forward to it, I will provide wine and spare no expense." He added, "It will definitely be a public wedding, inviting all media nationwide." He also mentioned that Jeong Ho-young's fish dissection show, Jeong Ji-seon's bass show, and Park Myung-soo's congratulatory song are scheduled.
