In episode 4 of JTBC's weekend drama "Everyone Is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness," Hwang Dong-man (Koo Kyo-hwan) and Byun Eun-ah (Go Yoon-jung) share their deficiencies and build an emotional bond. The two characters comforted each other by opening up about their respective pains.
Byun Eun-ah suffered a nosebleed due to extreme helplessness and anger, while Hwang Dong-man confessed the pain of having to constantly speak to overcome the auditory hallucinations that denied his self-worth. The cold attitudes of those around them continued as well. Hwang Dong-man was criticized by Park Kyung-se (Oh Jung-se) as "a person with neither skill nor charm," and Byun Eun-ah was insulted by her superior Choi Dong-hyun (Choi Won-young) and senior Choi Hyo-jin (Park Ye-ni).
After the day ended, the two shared laughter and tears over each other's stories, and a scene showed Byun Eun-ah's nosebleed stopping as she listened to Hwang Dong-man's story. Later, Byun Eun-ah chose to leave work early, telling Choi Dong-hyun, "Don't confuse being powerful with being arrogant," and Hwang Dong-man affirmed his existence to Park Kyung-se by saying, "I am not as miserable as you think."
Due to the appearance of Hwang Jin-man (Park Hae-joon), Hwang Dong-man ended up going to the police station, but there, Byun Eun-ah encouraged him by calling him a "film director." At the end of the broadcast, a revelation surfaced that national actress Oh Jung-hee (Bae Jong-ok) had neglected her daughter 23 years ago, and scenes alternated between the present Byun Eun-ah looking at Oh Jung-hee's movie poster and a 9-year-old Byun Eun-ah alone, leaving viewers curious about the relationship between the two.
