Park Bo-young and Lee Hyun-wook portray a complex romantic relationship in the Disney+ original series "Goldland."
Walt Disney Company Korea released stills from "Goldland" on the 28th. The work is a survival thriller about Hee-joo (Park Bo-young), who obtains 150 billion won worth of gold bars from a smuggling organization and struggles to claim the gold amid chaotic circumstances. Hee-joo is a character trying to escape a troubled past and secretly maintains an office romance with Do-kyung (Lee Hyun-wook).
The released photos capture moments when Hee-joo and Do-kyung come close to each other. There is both tenderness and subtle distance between them, adding tension. Unlike their appearance of enjoying a trip like ordinary lovers, an incident surrounding the 150 billion won gold bars puts their relationship in crisis. Do-kyung involves Hee-joo in an illegal smuggling case and shows a tendency to lean more toward desire than love, and through this process, their choices turn into mutual suspicion. Their relationship gradually flows in an unpredictable direction.
Park Bo-young explained Hee-joo's inner feelings, saying, "Do-kyung is a person I'm confused about whether I loved or someone I held onto because I wanted to escape." Lee Hyun-wook stated, "To Do-kyung, Hee-joo is both a final destination and a sanctuary, but ultimately, that choice can lead to the most dangerous outcome."
"Goldland" will release episodes 1 and 2 on the 29th and will present a total of 10 episodes, two episodes each week.
