Withus Entertainment announced the launch of a large-scale project to debut a new girl group. The project aims to create a rookie girl group with a unique worldview and high musical completeness, and has begun full-scale member scouting and concept development.
Withus has built its lineup by recruiting various K-POP artists such as Apink's Park Chorong, Yoon Bomi, Kim Namjoo, Oh Hayoung, Mamamoo Wheein, Pentagon's Hui, and The Wind. This is the first rookie production project in three years since producing the rookie boy group The Wind in 2023.
Several composers, including the producing team Sweetune and KZ, are participating in this rookie girl group project to take charge of the musical core. Sweetune is a team that has created various K-POP hits since the 2010s and is expected to present dramatic melodies and sophisticated arrangements.
Withus stated that they will not specify the debut timing of the rookie girl group and will prioritize completeness in training. They also expressed their determination to present a new paradigm in K-POP.
As the first phase of the project, a nationwide karaoke audition will be held in collaboration with TJ Media from May 1 to 31. It targets female vocal and rap aspirants born between 2005 and 2012, and anyone can participate from anywhere nationwide.
Apink released their 11th mini-album 'RE : LOVE' earlier this year, expanding their pure concept with the title track "Love Me More." The Wind showcased a refreshing Youth+Teen concept with songs like "Meet Again" and "Nice to Meet You, My First Love." Wheein and Hui have also been praised for their sophisticated and refined musical styles.
Withus announced that they plan to continue the rookie girl group launch project through various methods in the future.
