"Cinema"
of the group CIX was selected as the "Best K-pop Song of the Year" by
Billboard and Teenborg following the U.S. Time magazine.
CIX's
"Cinema" was named "Best K-Pop Songs of 2021 (Critics'
Picks)" according to "25 Best K-Pop Songs of 2021" released by
Billboard, a U.S. music media outlet, on its official website on December 17th
(local time).
Billboard
said, "Cinema', CIX's representative single, which starts with the
director shouting Ready and Action, is worth watching even if it is produced as
a full-length film. Instead of rap-oriented performances that tend to be
popular among male K-pop singers, colorful synthpop sets scenes for
experimental quintets that emphasize elevated and soft vocals. From the
guitar-led pre-chorus racing to the soaring connection between Jinyoung and
Seunghoon, "Cinema" is a pop track that can be seen again any time of
the day and in any atmosphere, and lasts as long as any Hollywood classic
movie," he said.
