The
group Stray Kids is the second single K-pop group to reach the top of the US
Billboard main album chart after BTS.
According
to the chart updated on the official website of the US Billboard on March 29th
(local time), Stray Kids' sixth mini-album "ODDINARY" topped the
Billboard 200. The album sold 103,000 copies locally, adding meaning to it as
the first album to simultaneously enter the top two charts this year, Billboard
200 and Top Album Sales. Foreign media also added, "It is the highest
sales volume in a week among albums released this year."
It is
the third time that the Billboard 200 has topped the list after BTS and SuperM.
Except for SM's project group SuperM, it is the second record as a single
artist. The members shared their joy with their fans. They wrote "I love
you STAY (fandom name)" on Twitter, and their agency JYP Entertainment
compiled Stray Kids' four-year record into a video that lasted less than a
minute.
In
addition to Billboard's main album chart, Stray Kids swept the charts of Artist
100, Top Album Sales, Top Current Album Sales, and World Albums. The title
song, "MANIAC," topped the list of "World Digital Song
Sales." It also ranked 19th in "Bubble Under Hot 100" just
before entering Billboard's main chart "Hot 100," 2nd in "Testmaker
Album," 21st in "Billboard Global 200," 15th in "Billboard
Global," 2nd in "Hot Trending Songs Power by Twitter," 20th in
"Billboard Canadian Album," and 79th in " Billboard's Hot 100."
