Seowool, which debuted as the boy group Impact in 2016 and is active as a member, has announced a new challenge as a ballad singer after completing his military discharge.
He released a Q&A through its agency, stating that it has gone through a lot of trouble to combine its color by starting a solo career with a new stage name, as well as foreshadowing that will play an active role as a singer will resonate with the public.

Q. Please tell us about your current situation.
In the glory days, I was discharged from the army early. After that, I thought, 'I need to do what I want to do,' so I spent time doing weight training and visiting the cafe. The biggest problem lately is starting a challenge as a ballad singer for a new company, KH Company.
Q. While promoting with your real name Je-up at the time of Impact, why did you use the stage name Seowool?
At the time of group activities, I operated under my real name Jeup, but I chose a stage name to join the new challenge. Considering the name of the activity has many meanings, I decided to use the stage name 'Seowool,' which means 'a new beginning.'
Q. The biggest reason become a ballad singer after working as an idol?
Since I was a child, I dreamed of becoming a singer and the genre I want to do the most is the ballad.
Q. Is there a musical color and direction that you would like to pursue as a ballad singer in the future?
I think of ballads as music with feelings of parting. I think I will sing a lot of farewell ballads, so I want to create music that can empathize with and comfort the public.
Q. There are a lot of ballads and music singers currently working, but what would be your strengths?
I think the most confident strength is the good high notes.
Q. You are attracting attention thanks to your positive communication, and especially the live video in the car is popular. Do you have a special reason to live in a car?
Due to COVID-19, I feel sorry to communicate with the fans. I thought it would be difficult to meet fans outside the stage, so I started expressing myself more. Above all, I want to show you a live performance, not a recorded video.
Q. How did you feel after recording for the first time as a solo artist?
Ever since I started singing, I never thought it would be difficult, but I felt a bit of a barrier. It felt like I had become a 'frog in the well', and I decided that I would work harder and practice more because I was limited in myself and couldn't see much. We'll jump over that wall in the future.
Q. There are many other ballad singers in the company you which moved, are you get along?
We were shy because of MBTI, but we became close while working on a song and recording together. Through candid conversations, we quickly became attached, and now we have become close.
Q. If your first debut song has been decided, can you explain?
This song was given to me by Hyung Hyun-jun from V.O.S, a senior at his old company. It was composed with beautiful lyrics, so I actively participated in the recording and participated with gratitude.
Q. You will be engaging with the public for the first time as a ballad singer, so tell us about your solution and goals for this.
I want to be a singer who can make the public think, “Oh, this person sings and loves with all his heart.” My goal is to try a new song, and I will sing with all my might. I hope you will give it a lot of support and interest. Thank you.
