power of word of mouth, the movie Yuksao is about to reach the milestone of 2
million views, captivating not only domestic audiences but also Vietnamese
audiences.
'Yuk
Sao' (Directed by Park Gyu-tae) is a film depicting a humorous story between
North and South Korean soldiers revolving around a 5.7 billion won lottery
ticket that crosses the military line. It is considered to be a good
combination of acting.
The
film 'Yuksao', which premiered in Vietnam on the 23rd, topped the overall box
office for three consecutive days after its premiere, setting the highest
opening weekend of any Korean film released in Vietnam.
Despite
the absolute inferiority in showings since its release, the film has surpassed
the Thai film 'Love Fate' and the Hollywood movie 'Avatar' to top the box
office for three consecutive days.
With
a cumulative audience of 300,000 and box office revenue of USD 1.15 million
through the 25th, this is the highest score of a Korean film premiering in
Vietnam so far in a single week of release.
Taeseon
Jeong, the head of CJ HK Entertainment, who is in charge of the distribution of
'Yuksao' in Vietnam, said, "The point of success of the distribution in
Vietnam is the bright smile and the matching code of 'Yuksao' with Vietnamese
sentiments".
'Yuksao',
which is enjoying a respectable overseas box office performance, is also slated
to release in Taiwan on September 30 after Vietnam and is expected to bring
laughter to audiences around the world outside of Korea.
The
movie Yuksao, which is creating a fever at the box office when winning the
hearts of not only domestic audiences but also foreign audiences, was premiered
on the 24th of last month and is being premiered with much praise in theaters
nationwide.
