On the 19th, according to the Cinema Promotion Committee's theater ticket aggregator network, 'Suzume Locking up the Doors' led 314,494 audiences the previous day and topped the box office for 11 consecutive days. The film's cumulative audience is 1,654,898 and if current trends continue, it is likely to surpass 2 million viewers next week.
On the same day, 'The first Slam Dunk' (56,901 people, cumulative 4,119,474) came in second at the box office and 'Soulmate' (32,049 people, cumulative 92,197) rose to third place. Next up is 'Shazam! Fury of the gods' (19,189 people, 49,678 people cumulative), followed by 5th place: The Blade of the Demon: Gathering Sanghye and to the Pottery Village (14,016 people, 483,150 people cumulative).
Currently, "The first Slam Dunk" is the number one hit Japanese movie in Korea. The previous No. 1 movie was director Makoto Shinkai's previous film, 'Your Name' (3.8 million viewers).
