[The Fact|Reporter Park Ji-yoon] Director Ryoo Seung-wan's 'Smuggling' gave the green light to box office success.
On the 28th, according to the computer network that integrates movie tickets of the Film Promotion Committee, 'Smuggling' (directed by Ryu Seung-wan) gathered 189,510 viewers the previous day and topped the box office. The cumulative number of viewers is 548,782.
'Smuggling' is a maritime crime action drama in which people who make a living rescuing daily necessities that are thrown into the sea engage in a battle that will last a lifetime, and Kim Hye- soo, Yum Jung-a, Jo In-seong, Park Jung-min, Kim Jong-soo and Go Min-si appeared and performed passionately.
'Smugglers', the first of so-called 'Big 4' masterpieces this summer, got off to a good start, attracting 310,000 people on its first day of release. In particular, attention is focusing on the first weekend screening of 'Smuggling' when it became a Korean film to regain the top spot at the box office after 42 days since 'City of Crime 3' (director Lee Sang -yong).
Disney/Pixar's animated feature Elemental (directed by Peter Sohn) gathered 66,381 viewers and rose to second place. Cumulative viewership was 5,308,519, writing a new history for Disney and Pixar movies.
'Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One' recorded 46,743 viewers and fell to third place at the box office. Cumulative viewership is 3,322,557.
