[The Fact|Reporter Park Ji-yoon] 'Oppenheimer' is showing undiminished popularity.
According to the Korean Film Council's comprehensive movie ticket sales network on the 4th, 'Oppenheimer' (directed by Christopher Nolan) topped the box office, attracting 248,776 moviegoers from 1st to 3rd place. Number of viewers cumulative is 2,774,670.
'Oppenheimer', released on the 15th of last month, is a work about the nuclear development project of a genius scientist who must risk destroying the world to save it.
'Target' (directed by Park Hee-gon) attracted 167,619 viewers and ranked second at the box office in its first weekend. The cumulative number of viewers is 260,931. The work is a thriller that captures the suspense that takes place in the daily life of Soo-hyeon (played by Shin Hye-sun), who becomes a target of criminals due to selling second-hand goods.
'Concrete Utopia' (directed by Um Tae-hwa) ranked third with 157,619 viewers. The cumulative number of viewers is 3,612,621, approaching the break-even point of 3.8 million.
'Sweet Sea: 7510' (directed by Lee Han, hereinafter referred to as 'Sweet Sea') ranked 4th with 142,971 viewers, and Disney/Pixar's 'Elemental' (directed by Peter Son) ranked 5th with 61,765 viewers see.
In particular, 'Sweet Water' attracted a total of 1,117,338 audiences, making it into the top 3 most popular Korean movies this summer, after 'Smugglers' (directed by Ryu Seung-wan) and 'Concrete Utopia'.
