According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for cinema admissions on the 1st, the cumulative number of viewers of the movie 'Doctor Cheon's Exorcism Laboratory: The Secret of the Snow Scene' has exceeded 1 million. The cumulative number of viewers as of the previous day was 944,251 and as of 1pm that day, the number of viewers was 83,791.
The film debuted on the 27th of last month but by the second day it had not yet exceeded 200,000 daily viewers. However, on the third day, 278,451,000 people were recorded, and on the fourth day, 308,947 people were mobilized.
Distributor CJ ENM posted a video congratulating the 1 million milestone on its official SNS on this day. CJ ENM expressed gratitude and said, “It's all thanks to the researchers” and “Dr. Cheon's exorcism continues.”
The film is about a fake exorcist, Dr. Cheon (played by Kang Dong-won), who meets a client who sees ghosts. Lee Dong-hwi, Lee Som, Heo Jun-ho and Kim Jong-soo appear in the movie to add to the fun. It is based on the 2014 webtoon 'Possession' and is director Kim Seong-sik's feature film debut.
As of the 30th of last month, the competing work '1947 Boston' recorded a cumulative viewership of 461,412 and 'Spider's Web' recorded a cumulative viewership of 192,360.
