Lotte Cinema secretly removed 'Parasite' from the 'ANNIVERSARY FESTA' poster

'Snowpiercer' and 'Memories of Murder' directed by Bong Joon-ho are scheduled to be screened.

Recently, Lotte Cinema announced on its official website that they will hold an 'ANNIVERSARY FESTA' from October 18 to November 14. Among these, 'Parasite' is known as a theatrical film that has disappeared and attracted attention.

Previously, Lotte Cinema announced the 'Anniversary Film Festival' and released a poster through the 'October Anticipated Movie Event' for everyone to guess the movies scheduled to be shown through comments. At the time, it included four works, including a matte version of the 'Parasite' poster.

However, Lotte Cinema excluded 'Parasite' in the process of reposting the 'ANNIVERSARY FESTA' event post. Posters currently available on the site include 'About Time', 'Gravity', 'Snowpiercer', the 10th anniversary release and the special collection 'Memories of Murder'.

This seems to have been dropped from the rerun list without a word, as actor Lee Sun-kyun, who appeared in 'Parasite', recently caused controversy for allegedly using drug.

Lee Sun-gyun has been repeatedly accused of using drugs such as marijuana at the home of Mr. A, known to be the female manager of an entertainment establishment, since the beginning of this year. After being investigated for drug crimes, he was eventually charged with violating the Drug Administration Act and became a suspect.

Accordingly, on the 28th, Lee Sun-kyun went to Nonhyeon police station in Namdong-gu, Inch and was summoned for questioning. The results of a simple reagent test were negative, but the police requested detailed testing.

'Parasite', released in 2019, won the Palme d'Or, the highest honor at the 72nd Cannes International Film Festival. In addition, at the 92nd Academy Awards, the film swept the Film Awards. Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best International Feature Film (Best Foreign Film), honored to win four awards. However, Lee Sun-kyun was accused of drug use and the glory of 'Parasite' was erased along with his career.
