[The Fact | Reporter Jeong Byeong-geun] The girl group aespa said that they are getting along well with NewJeans, who recently became an unwanted rival.
aespa held a showcase for the release of her first full-length album 'Armageddon' at the Blue Square Mastercard Hall in Hannam-dong, Seoul on the 27th. When a question about NewJeans came up that day, aespa said, "We exchanged hearts in the waiting room of a music broadcast not long ago. There is nothing to worry about and we are getting along well as good colleagues."
She continued, “I think we evolve by competing with our previous selves. Not only we but all artists have their own charms, so I don’t think we can replace or compare them.”
Previously, while Ador CEO Min Hee-jin and Hive were going through a conflict, another person's comments that seemed to put NewJeans and aespa in competition were made public, attracting attention.
After releasing their first full album today, aespa will begin their second world tour starting in Seoul in June. It is being held in a total of 14 cities in Asia and Australia, and the excitement is already high. All concerts in Japan were sold out, including the performances at Jamsil Indoor Stadium on June 29th and 30th. Accordingly, aespa added two performances at Tokyo Dome. This is the second time entering the Tokyo Dome, following last year.
