[The FactㅣReporter Soobin Choi] Girl group Kep1er became the first Mnet project group to successfully renew the contract.
On the 30th, the agency Wake One and Swing Entertainment announced, "We have agreed to renew the contract with Choi Yu-jin, Xiaoting, Kim Chae-hyun, Kim Da-yeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahi, and Seo Young-eun, who are active as Kepler, to extend group activities."
"We had a long and in-depth discussion with Mashiro, Kang Ye-seo and the member's agency about future activities, but we are finally concluding our activities as Kepler. We would like to thank Kang Ye-seo and Mashiro, who did their best in all of their activities as Kepler for 2 years and 6 months. “We express my sincere gratitude and will continue to support you without change.”
As a result, Kepler will continue its domestic and international activities as a seven-member group even after the end of project group activities. Mashiro and Kang Ye-seo will conclude their activities with first full-length album 'Kep1going On', which will be released on June 3, and a concert held at K-Arena Yokohama, Japan in July.
The agency said, "Please look forward to Kepler's first and last full-length album as a full 9-member group," and added, "We will provide more active support not only for Kepler's activities in the future but also for each member's musical growth."
Kepler is a group formed through the Mnet audition program 'Girls Planet 999: Girls' Battle', which aired in 2021. With their debut song 'WA DA DA', they won first place on a terrestrial broadcasting station just 12 days after their debut, and were certified Gold (more than 50 million cumulative plays) by the Recording Industry Association of Japan in the shortest time ever for a debut song by a K-pop girl group.
In addition, Japan's first fan concert 'FLY-HIGH' held last March attracted over 30,000 audiences, and their first Japanese full-length album 'Kep1going', released on May 8, was also doing well. They will continue their activities in various fields.
