[The Fact | Reporter Moon Eun-hye] World-class girl group aespa won the honorable Grand Prize at the '2024 The Fact Music Awards' (TMA).
aespa proved themselves to be the best girl group by winning the Grand Prize at the '2024 The Fact Music Awards' hosted by <The Fact> and organized by FAN N STAR and FEELINGVIVE at Kyocera Dome Osaka in Osaka, Japan on the 8th.
aespa said, "First of all, we're so surprised and thankful that the award came to us after preparing so hard this year," and added, "There were times when the members weren't in good condition, but it feels like we're being compensated for it, and we're grateful to MY."
Members Winter and Ningning also shouted, "We love MY."
Karina also said, "Since we received the grand prize, we're going to secretly spoil our next song as a way to show our appreciation," and added, "It'll be a fun and new song like Supernova called 'Whiplash.'" Karina added, "We'll work hard next year too, so please look forward to it."
The TMA Grand Prize is an award given to the artist (or team) who has shown the best performance and achievements among the artists selected as Artist of the Year. The winner was selected by adding 60% of the music and album scores (based on Circle Chart) and 40% of the judges' scores (The Fact editor-in-chief Jung Jae-woong, composer Park Geun-tae, composer Jo Young-soo, and producer Ryan Jeon).
aespa set a record with their first full-length album, 'Supernova', released in May. It topped the weekly charts of major domestic music sites Melon and Genie (August 26-September 1) for 15 consecutive weeks, breaking the record for the longest-running #1 position in 20 years since Melon began its service in November 2004. It truly was an unrivaled long-run hit.
aespa, who made their official debut in Japan with 'Hot Mess' in July, are rapidly gaining popularity there. Their arena tour, which was held nine times in four cities including Fukuoka, Nagoya, Saitama, and Osaka, sold out and attracted a total of 100,000 people.
