[THE FACT | Reporter Eun-hye Moon] The 11-member global boy group JO1 was named 'Artist of the Year' at the '2024 THE FACT MUSIC AWARDS (TMA)'.

On the 8th, JO1 won the 'Artist of the Year' award at the '2024 The Fact Music Awards' hosted by <The Fact> and organized by FAN N STAR and FEELINGVIVE. The 2024 TMA was held at Kyocera Dome Osaka in Osaka, Japan in the afternoon of that day.

JO1, who showed the infinite expansion potential of K-pop with their unique style and performance, went up on stage to receive the award and said, "Thank you so much," and "I am so grateful and honored to receive this award. I love you all."

'Artist of the Year' is an award given to a singer (or team) who has shown remarkable performance in album sales (based on Circle Chart) and music charts among all artists who have released albums or music sources during the year. The singers' performance and criteria were based on their performance and album performance from September 24th of last year to August 31st of this year.

JO1 is a boy group formed through the Korean-Japanese joint audition program 'Produce 101 Japan'. Since debuting in 2020 with the single 'PROTOSTAR', they have been expanding their fandom globally, with Japan as their base.

Their first single album ranked first on the Japanese Oricon chart and won the Favorite Asian Artist Award at the '2022 MAMA AWARDS'. Last year, they successfully held their first Asian tour and first solo dome concert in four years since their debut, drawing an audience of 200,000.

The '2024 The Fact Music Awards' opened its grand ceremony at Kyocera Dome Osaka in Osaka, Japan on the 7th, with broadcasters Jeon Hyun-moo and Seohyun as co-hosts under the slogan 'NEW GEN FOR FANSTIVAL'. It is showcasing the best festival created by artists leading K-POP and MZ fandom.

 

This year's awards ceremony will be attended by WOO!AH!, Kim Jaejoong, ITZY, JO1, aespa, NiziU, Kep1er, NewJeans, &TEAM, xikers, KISS OF LIFE, n.SSign, EVNNE, YOUNG POSSE, NCT WISH, UNIS, and NEXZ, who will be decorating the spectacular stage.
