[The Fact | [Reporter Gong Mina] Actress Suhyun has broken up with businessman Cha Min-geun after 5 years of marriage.
On the 23rd, Suhyun's agency YG Entertainment told The Fact, "After careful consideration, Suhyun has decided to end her marriage and has completed the divorce proceedings amicably."
The agency also added, "The two have decided to go their separate ways while supporting each other. As this was a decision made after much thought and discussion, we respectfully ask everyone to avoid malicious comments and untrue rumors."
Suhyun and Mr. Cha Min-geun got married on December 14, 2019 and welcomed their first daughter in September the following year. At that time, the couple received a lot of attention when they got married just 4 months after their relationship was made public.
Suhyun began her acting career in 2005 after winning the Korea-China Supermodel Contest. She then quickly rose to global fame with her roles in Hollywood blockbusters such as "Avengers: Age of Ultron" (2015), "The Dark Tower" (2017), "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" (2018).
She recently appeared in the Netflix series "Gyeongseong Creature" and the JTBC drama "Hero is not here". On the 9th of next month, the movie "Ordinary Family" starring her will also be released.
Mr. Cha Min-geun served as the General Manager of Asia Pacific and CEO of WeWork Korea until October 2019. He is currently the CEO of Dien Korea, a Proptech company that provides the real estate brokerage service platform "Dongne".
