[The Fact | Reporter Mun Hwa-young] Cube Entertainment responded to the rumors that Jeon So-yeon's contract renewal failed by saying, "We are currently discussing."
On the 25th, an official from Cube Entertainment told <The Fact>, "We are currently discussing renewing our contract with Jeon So-yeon. We will proceed with our schedule as planned." Earlier, Xports News reported that Jeon So-yeon's contract renewal with Cube had fallen through.
At the 'iDOL' concert of (G)I-dle's world tour held at the KSPO DOME in Seoul Olympic Park in August, Jeon So-yeon caused controversy by changing the lyrics of her rap during her solo stage to "My contract ends in November, who's stopping me?"
At the time, her agency explained, "It was just part of the stage performance," but when Jeon So-yeon pointed out the company's inadequate response to the controversy, she explained, "The mentioned period is the contract expiration date, and we are amicably discussing the renewal."
Jeon So-yeon became known by appearing on the Mnet audition program 'Produce 101' in 2016. Although she did not make it into the top ranks, she showed off her unique talent and skills by appearing on 'Unpretty Rapstar' Season 3.
After forming the group (G)I-dle, Jeon So-yeon debuted with the mini-album 'I am' in May 2018. As the group's general producer, she is in charge of all art, music, and performance directing. After reorganizing into a five-member group in 2022, he has consecutively released hits such as "TOMBOY," "Nxde," "Queencard," and "Fate"
