Concept Cinema for Mini Album Vol.6 Announced

[The Fact | Reporter Jung Byung-geun] Group ENHYPEN has portrayed dangerous and deadly desires through a short film containing the main message of the mini album vol.6.
ENHYPEN (Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Ni-ki) posted the Concept Cinema for the mini album vol.6 ‘DESIRE : UNLEASH’ on HYBE Labels’ YouTube channel at 0:00 on May 12. This is a short film that recreates the main theme of the album – “desire” – in high quality, filled with messages in every frame.
Concept Cinema is a series of content that represents ENHYPEN's album theme through a visual perspective. Since last year's full album vol.2 'ROMANCE : UNTOLD', ENHYPEN has collaborated with film directors to create short films in the form of Concept Cinema, expressing the album's deeper storyline and group identity more clearly.
This Concept Cinema focuses on the theme of "desire" - which is also the album's name. When the total lunar eclipse begins and the city is plunged into darkness, the vampires awaken one by one. A vampire appears on a TV show and publicly reveals his existence to the world, talking about desire. A vampire talk show - inspired by the movie "Talk Show with the Devil" - plays a key role in connecting the film.
The film shows many different images of facing desire: those who reveal it, those who are overwhelmed by it, and those who try to suppress it. Heeseung, Ni-ki, Jay, and Jake each take on two roles – inner and outer – to create characters with depth. With their strong acting abilities, they add a mysterious touch to the film like reflections.
It is impossible not to mention the mature visuals and deep expressions of all 7 members. The cold eyes and sharp expressions that match the gloomy atmosphere have increased the tension, leaving a strong impression on viewers. In addition, the mise-en-scène details cleverly arranged in each scene have enhanced the artistic value and visual beauty of the work.
Before announcing the Concept Cinema, ENHYPEN held a pre-screening event called DESIRE Concept Cinema Premier Event on the 11th at Megabox COEX, Gangnam, Seoul to meet fans (ENGENE).
Director Park Min-soo, who is in charge of the film, shared, “I was excited to be able to explore the theme of vampires’ desires and humanity in this work. In addition, directing a short film with a longer rhythm – different from the usual K-pop content – was also an interesting experience.”
ENHYPEN expressed, “Since every second and minute in the film is meaningful, we hope everyone will watch it carefully. After successfully completing the performance at Coachella, we wanted to present ENHYPEN’s image through a high-quality album, and we believe this is a work that expresses that very well. Please look forward to the album’s release date – June 5.”
ENHYPEN’s mini album vol.6 ‘DESIRE : UNLEASH’ will be officially released on June 5.
